About me
Create While You Wait was born from Alana Janai’s realization that validation shouldn’t come from a booking, a gig, or a room you’re “allowed” into. As a plus-size Black performer, Alana knows how hard it can be to get seen, even when you’re more than capable. She grew tired of waiting for permission to share her talent, so she started creating for creation’s sake: posting her own choreography, filming her own concept videos, sewing her own pieces, and building her own businesses. Create While You Wait is her reminder to every artist that you already have the talent, the worth, and the power. Why wait for someone else to choose you, when you can create and share right now?
